Is the Amalfi Coast warm all year?
Amalfi Coast runs about 50 kilometres and overlooks beaches and the Tyrrhenian Sea. That must be so picturesque!
And goodness, it is… This stunning Italian coastal region is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world. With magical views of the blue sea and properties stacked on the cliffs, the Amalfi Coast is a dream place for so many people to visit.
Even though the Amalfi Coast looks stunning all year, it can get cold. As it’s located along the coast and near the water, the Amalfi Coast is especially cold during winter The rest of the year it is warm, but keep in mind that’s when the area is a lot busier with visitors.
Winter
Between December 21st to March 20th is when winter hits and cools down the Amalfi Coast. It can get as cold as 3 to 6 degrees Celsius overnight while warming up to 12 to 15 degrees Celsius during the day. As winter reaches an end and spring approaches, the temperature starts to warm up.
Spring
From March 20th to June 21st is when spring arrives and starts to warm up the Amalfi Coast again. It is still a bit cool at night, but during the day it starts to warm up to 26 degrees Celsius in April and May, it’s between 18 to 22 degrees Celsius during the day. As the sun sets and it cools down again, it can get to between 6 to 16 degrees Celsius.
Summer
This is peak season when everyone comes by for their summer holidays for a taste of the Amalfi Coast. Summer starts from June 21st and ends September 23rd. During the hottest months, it reaches 29 degrees Celsius. Then at night it is about 18 degrees Celsius. With it not as hot as other parts of Italy during summer, it understandable why travellers love to visit.
Autumn
Then when autumn hits, the weather starts to cool down again before winter again. Between September 23rd to December 21st the days are still warm, and the nights cool off. It can get between 5 to 15 degrees Celsius overnight, then 13 to 26 degrees Celsius during the day. Obviously as the year comes to an end the temperature starts cooling down again.
